About me
I qualified at St George's Hospital in 2001 (GMC No 6029014) and am the 1st doctor to qualify in the specialised field of Lymphovascular Medicine. I lead the National Lymphoedema service at St George's Hospital in London. I am also a Consultant Dermatologist, a certified lymphoedema therapist, and have a research doctorate in lymphoedema. I deliver lymphoedema lectures internationally, regularly publish research articles and write book chapters on lymphoedema and lipoedema.

Research
I am a co-recipient of a large MRC research grant (>£3 million) with the Lymphovascular Research Unit at St George's University. We are undertaking new research in primary lymphoedema using genetic, imaging and immunological studies to further our understanding of this complex disease. Through collaboration with colleagues in the UK we are now able to offer the first drug for patients with primary lymphoedema and overgrowth disorders. This opens the door for potential “gene therapy” treatments for other patients.
I am the Co-investigator or Principal Investigator for multiple lymphatic research studies currently taking place at St George’s, University of London. These include a Phase II clinical trial using a novel drug therapy to manage PIK3CA-related overgrowth disorders. I am also involved with lymphatic research studies in Belgium and Denmark.
I am also actively involved in research projects exploring the genetics of lipoedema.
